Case Overview

The Official Committee of Unsecured Creditors represents the interests of general unsecured creditors in the Boy Scouts’ bankruptcy cases. The Tort Claimants’ Committee represents the interests of abuse survivors, and is represented by Pachulski Stang Ziehl & Jones LLP

On February 18, 2020 (the "Petition Date"), the national organization of the Boy Scouts of America (the “BSA”) and Delaware BSA, LLC (collectively, the “Debtors”) filed voluntary petitions for relief under Chapter 11 of the United States Bankruptcy Code (the “Bankruptcy Code”) in the United States Bankruptcy Court for the District of Delaware.

On March 4, 2020, the United States Trustee appointed the Official Committee of Unsecured Creditors (the "Committee") in the Debtors' bankruptcy case pursuant to Section 1102 of the Bankruptcy Code. The Committee consists of five members: Pension Benefit Guaranty Corporation, Girl Scouts of the United States of America, Roger A. Ohmstede, Pearson Education, Inc., and Lion Brothers Inc. The Committee has selected Kramer Levin Naftalis & Frankel LLP as counsel, Reed Smith LLP as Delaware co-counsel, and AlixPartners as its financial advisor.
