Memorial Production Partners LP reached agreements with its noteholders and lenders on a financial restructuring that will eliminate $1.3 billion of debt from the Partnership’s balance sheet and enhance its financial flexibility. To implement these agreements, on January 16, 2017, as planned, MEMP voluntarily filed for reorganization under Chapter 11 of the United States Bankruptcy Code in the United States Bankruptcy Court for the Southern District of Texas, Houston Division. MEMP’s operations and production are expected to continue as normal across its asset base throughout the court-supervised financial restructuring process.
On April 14, 2017, the Bankruptcy Court entered the Findings of Fact, Conclusions of Law, and Order Confirming Second Amended Joint Plan of Reorganization of Memorial Production Partners LP, et al. Under Chapter 11 of the Bankruptcy Code and Granting Related Relief [Docket No. 344]. On May 4, 2017, the Effective Date of the Plan occurred [Docket No. 356].
On May 30, 2018, the Bankruptcy Court entered the Final Decree Closing Certain Chapter 11 Cases [Docket No. 456]. On September 15, 2020, the Bankruptcy Court entered the Final Decree Closing Remaining Chapter 11 Cases [Docket No. 471]. All cases are closed.
