On July 08, 2016 (the "Petition Date"), ESML Holdings Inc. and Essar Steel Minnesota LLC (the "Debtors") filed voluntary petitions in the United States Bankruptcy Court for the District of Delaware (the "Bankruptcy Court") seeking relief under the provisions of Chapter 11 of the United States Bankruptcy Code (the "Bankruptcy Code"). The Debtors are represented by White & Case LLP and Fox Rothschild LLP.
On July 20, 2016, the United States Trustee appointed the Official Committee of Unsecured Creditors (the "Committee") in the Debtors' bankruptcy case pursuant to Section 1102 of the Bankruptcy Code. The Committee consists of three members: Axis Capital, Inc., ArcelorMittal USA, LLC., and FLSmidth USA, Inc. The Committee has selected the law firms of Kasowitz, Benson, Torres & Friedman LLP and Hogan Mcdaneil as its counsels. Shai Schmidt is the principal attorney responsible for this engagement.
