On July 8, 2020, SLT Holdco, Inc. and Sur La Table, Inc. each filed a voluntary petition for relief under Chapter 11 of the United States Bankruptcy Code in the United States Bankruptcy Court for the District of New Jersey. This website provides information about the Debtors’ chapter 11 cases.
On August 13, 2020, the Bankruptcy Court entered an order approving, among other things, the sale of certain of the Debtors’ assets to SLT Lending SPV, Inc. and SLT IP Holdings, LP (together, the “Buyers”). Among other things, pursuant to Section 1.1 of the Asset Purchase Agreement approved by the Bankruptcy Court, the Buyers have assumed “all Liabilities for gift cards on the E-Commerce Platform, store credits, customer loyalty programs, gift cards and gift certificates validly issued by the Seller and outstanding as of the Closing” and “all deferred revenue and obligations of Seller arising from the acceptance by Seller of any deposits for participation by any individuals in any cooking classes to be conducted at any of the Acquired Stores, in an aggregate amount not to exceeds $1,300,000.” Customers with questions regarding their gift cards should contact the Buyers at email@example.com, or the issuer of the cards, CardCo CF VI, Inc., at 1-800-243-0852. On October 22, 2020, the Bankruptcy Court entered an order confirming the First Amended Joint Plan of Liquidation of SLT Holdco, Inc. and Sur La Table, Inc. Pursuant to Chapter 11 of the Bankruptcy Code [Docket No. 548]. On November 6, 2020, the Effective Date of the Plan occurred [Docket No. 576].
On December 9, 2020, the Bankruptcy Court entered the Final Decree Closing Chapter 11 Case of Sur La Table, Inc. [Docket No. 618]. The chapter 11 case of Sur La Table, Inc., Case No. 20-18367 (MBK) is now closed. All pending and future matters relating to each Debtor shall be administered and heard in the chapter 11 case of SLT Holdco, Inc., Case No. 20-18368 (MBK).
